The Texas Star bed mesquite bed below was built to size and features mesquite headboard with Texas stars and a hand-forged longhorn from 1" bar stock. The mesquite is 1" thick and protrudes from the metal 3/8" inch. Footboard not pictured. Since all our beds are custom built, you may have any size or design you like. Twin beds, Queen Beds, King Size Beds... all iron or a combination of iron and mesquite.
Full size bed in mesquite and hand-forged iron. Mesquite star applique on matching number 1 grade mesquite panels, 1 1/2" solid square bar stock is hammered, chiseled and twisted to create collared* iron scrollwork and twisted iron details. King size iron bed is hand-forged iron with Texas stars and 1.5" solid square headboard post, chiseled & twisted with collared* scrolls on top
* Collared items are two pieces of metal held in place with a metal wrap or strap. The collar is decorative in nature but serves the purpose of holding two pieces in place.
**Flat spots in scroll work is predominant in machine bent scroll work. It will always have a flat spot on the end where they clamp it before they bend it cold. Hand forged work is bent hot over a form or is hand hammered over an anvil and rolled up hot with a hammer, requiring much more skill but producing a more beautiful product
